Historic Preservation
and Tourism Development

St. Lucia

HRA Gray & Pape is consulting with the Saint Lucia National Trust about historic preservation planning and public interpretation for Trust properties at Pigeon Island, the Walcott House and Morne Fortune.

Principals from the firm were invited by the St. Lucia Trust to make two presentations at the UWI Open Campus Forum on The Sesenne Descartes and Walcott Brothers Heritage Sites: Sustaining The Legacy.

The two presentations were entitled “Requirements and Components of Heritage Sites/Museums in Honour of National Heroes” and “A Case study of the Abraham Lincoln Boyhood Home”.  These presentations discussed ways that the Trust and Tourism Ministry could utilize their heritage assets to celebrate local culture and create heritage tourism opportunities in support of community revitalization.
